UW school of Pharmacy research poster competition
In March 2010, Nafiseh won the Research Poster Competition held at the School of Pharmacy. Congratulations! Nafiseh received an all expenses paid trip to to the AFPC/CSPS Conference in Vancouver to represent Dr. Roderick Slavcev's Research Group. Also, special congratulations to Katlyn for a very well done presentation.
drug safety and effectiveness cross-disciplinary training (DSECT) program

Major-general amir chand gold medal award
In July 2008, Tranum was honored with “Major-General Amir Chand Gold Medal Award” for the meritorious performance based on her Doctorate (Ph.D.) research work for unravelling the complex signaling pathways involving tumor suppressor and tumor promotor genes (P53, Bcl-2, c-Myc, iNos and Cox-2) in esophageal carcinoma in response to neo-adjuvant therapy (Cisplatin / 5-FU and Radiotherapy) along with the status of anti-oxidant defense system in Northern India.
Discover Our World
Before beginning her Masters with Team MediPhage, Katlyn worked with the Dean of Science Office and the Science and Business program in liaison with the Departments of Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences and Physics and Astronomy as Associate Editor of the first edition of Discover Our World, Magazine of the Waterloo Physical Sciences.
